LA DENIES PERMIT FOR SUNSET JUNCTION MUSIC FESTIVAL

The Sunset Junction Music Festival is scheduled to take place on August 27th & 28th. The event has been going for 30 years strong. This years roster includes bands like Hanson and The Dirty Heads. The festival is in jeopardy after the LA board of Public Works voted to deny festival organizers the permit they need to stage this weekends festival.

Why the denial?

The non-profit organization that stages the Sunset Junction Music Festival still owes $141k in advance fees. The city also claims that organizers still owe the city more than $256k in unpaid fees for last year's festival. The organization claims that they do not have the money to pay the entire fee and that the city in unfairly charging them. Sunset Blvd gets completely shut down for the two day festival the high fees are said to cover police, fire, and transportation services.

We hope the city comes to an agreement with Sunset Junction because the show must go on!
