In case you couldn't tell, the LA native has some seriously aggressive swag, and in the highly unlikely occurrence with newcomer DJs, EQ's got the skills to back it up. She's a dubstep, glitch and house-obsessed arena-rocker now, but at age 8 EQ was a classically trained pianist and violinist. Long before she hit the decks, she spent 7 years as an R&B singer/songwriter and then went on to become TV's hip hop authority on networks such as MTV, Extra!, and BET.
A brief listen to EQ's mix EP The Introduction immediately makes it clear: beats are her playground, and EQ rules the grounds. Her unique musical background gives her style a stamp that is definitively, unmistakably hers. She's part artist, part DJ, and all urban flair.
EQ's impeccable musical instinct has given her a respected name in the music world in the past few years, She's worked directly with record labels including Atlantic Records, Interscope, Capitol Records, Universal Music and Def Jam as well as with celebrity artists from Quincey Jones to Gene Simmons to Keri Hilson. She's rocked NBA All-Star Weekend at the Staples Center and hosted as the face of Extra! at the Grammy's. She's also notorious for ridiculously high-energy performances that involve a whole lot of jumping, crowd-hyping and her version of head-banging. (Quoted from Faded Magazine.)
